The tasting room out the back was great with a lovely, informative young woman serving who told us all about the local beers and ciders on offer. The food in the pub section was pretty poor and sub par. It's hard to stuff up basic pub food like a chicken schnitzel, but it's was oily and the salad was quilted and dead. Wouldn't go back but it's a tourist town so we won't be missed.
Excellent selection of beers and none of the usual Australian suspects. Happy to offer tasters and friendly bar staff. Though it's a shame they only offer tasting paddles I the bottle shop and not the bar. They also closed the bar at 10pm on a Sunday, though it was rather quiet.
Always nice to have a range of local brews on tap to enjoy. Unfortunately the bistro food could be that bit more exceptional to really make the experience more rounded. That being said the service is great and the location means good views and easy parking.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner Friday night . Clean and inviting. Staff attentive. Ordered Nepalese lamb & spinach curry and chef special beef stir fry/noodles - could really taste the spices excellent. Quick service despite bistro full. Compliments to staff! Ginger beer was great too. Worth the walk up to the top end of town.
Generous serves, tasty tacos and nice apple ciderThe meals were of generous size. The chips were crispy with a nice seasoning, and fish was a good serving. The fish was flake, so not a lot of flavour. The reason for the 4 stars, was the fish and chips were nothing special for $24.Chicken tacos were the highlight. For $18 they were filling, chicken grilled / juicy, and salad was fresh and crispy. Taco had a nice hot spicy kick to them I enjoyed. Their apple cider went really well with the tacos.Staff were great, taking you to the table and explaining the menu.Thanks for a good night.
